Crenshaw is a hot real estate market and things are changing as the new Metro
Crenshaw LAX line is heading down the BLVD to Los Angeles International Airport.
The name Crenshaw derives from a man by the name of “George Lafayette Crenshaw” he was a Real Estate Developer and Banker. In the early 1900s Mr. Crenshaw developed several upscale residential developments in mid-city Los Angeles and South LA, including Lafayette Square (his name sake) and Wellington Square.
Crenshaw Blvd was previously called Angeles Mesa Drive , today Crenshaw Blvd is one of the city’s major thoroughfares. Zip code: 90008 Area code: 323
In a recent article according to Redfin “More than 57 % of all homes sold for more than sellers were asking. Homes sold for an average of 4 percent more than their asking price and homes found buyers in two weeks over 57% of the homes in Los Angeles’s Crenshaw area have sold above asking price.”
The Crenshaw LAX light rail is moving right along, according to Urbanize LA, the $2-billion light rail line, will run along an approximately 8.5-mile route linking the Green Line and Los Angeles International Airport to the Expo Line via communities such as Westchester, Inglewood, Park Messa Heights and Leimert Park. A substantial portion of the line traverses a historic freight rail right-of-way – the Harbor Subdivision – before it turns north to follow the path of a former “Yellow Car” line on the Los Angeles Railway.
